I'm actively bringing
APRS to the Methow Valley. The
Mazama iGate/digipeater
and
McClure digipeater are operational. APRS coverage is from the
Silver Star snow gate on Hwy
20 down to Hwy 97 more or less as well as up to Loup
Loup. Mobiles have been able to hit
McClure from I90, BC Hwy 3, Chelan,
Brewster, Omak, Okanogan, Mansfield, Coulee
and Wilber, though these contacts are the
exception. |

(simplest) -- http://aprs.fi/ or
directly: http://aprs.fi/?call=a/WB6WUI-3 This
will bring up the Forester. The a/WB6WUI-3 in the
window on the page means "auto-refresh" the page to
track the movement. Click around as there's plenty
on this page. I
plan to use 25 watt VHF Maxtracs for the mobile
trackers. The Mazama iGate/digipeater has a very
sensitive receiver to maximize hearing the mobiles.
The Maxtrac's are relatively numb so they will be only
for use where sensitivity is not as high a priority,
typically in vehicles.
