Mike has been an Amateur Radio Operator (ham) since the early ’70’s. The current passion is DMR and more specifically PNWDigital.net, our regional DMR network.
But there have been other interests over the past 50 years as well:
- Analog repeater system on 220 with remotes, 2 auto-patches, etc
- APRS
- HF – only after moving to Washington
- wanting out of region comms for emergencies
- no infrastructure required (internet, phone)
- Internet for remote use of Ham Radio activities
